Athletes have an invaluable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the region surrounding snowboard competitions at Milano Cortina 2026.

Apart from the picturesque views, plenty of world cup points are up for grabs for those looking to have a fruitful season.

It is going to be an action packed weekend with more than 100 athletes, male and female, in the fray at both the world cup stops.

FIS Snowboard World Cup: Preview

Athletes eager to shine  at both world cups include parallel giant slalom world cup leader Edwin Coratti, and teammates Maurizio Bormolini and Mirko Felicetti of Italy.

All three riders face tough competition from equally talented riders, including Beijing 2022 Olympic champion Benjamin Karl, Beijing 2022 silver medalist Tim Mastnak and Pyeongchang 2018 silver medalist Sangho Lee.

Austria’s Benjamin Karl – winner of the crystal globe last season – will hope to return to form after a disappointing start to the season, including a disqualification at the second world cup stop in Yanqing.

Slovenia’s Tim Mastnak, with one world cup victory this season, is another athlete to watch out for.

The women’s events are wide open with the  absence of double-Olympic champion Ester Ledecka. Italy’s Lucia Dalmasso – winner of the second world cup stop in Yanqing- will hope to top the podium, entering both the races.

Japan’s Tsubaki Miki and Austria’s Sabine Payer, who finished second and third behind Dalmasso in Yanqing, are eager to improve their places.

Germany’s Ramona Theresia Hofmeister, who won the crystal glove last season, is another player to watch out for.
