Rajagopal Sathish, a player who has been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) along with the Ranji Trophy has disclosed that a sum of INR 40 Lakhs was offered to him for fixing matches. A grievance has also been lodged with the police relating to this matter as well.
Sathish has competed for IPL franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the past. Sathish has also featured in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) as well.
Apart from informing the police, Sathish has also informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC) concerning this matter as well.

The chief of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the BCCI, Shabbir Khandwawala has said that Sathish had approached them regarding this matter and has also taken this interest to the ICC as well. Adding that details of the case have been taken, Khandwawala said that the police can investigate this matter.
“The player approached us and ICC and enlightened us that somebody had approached him on Instagram. we have a tendency to take details of the case and tell our ACU officer to file a police grievance within the matter. we are simply a facilitator and currently, police can cross-check the case,” said Khandwawala as quoted by The Indian Express.
The police complaint alleges that an individual known as Bunny Anand had approached Sathish on Instagram and had offered to pay forty lakhs, telling him that 2 other players will join for this offer as well. Sathish reportedly declined it.
“On January 3, an individual named Bunny Anand contacted Sathish on Instagram and messaged him luring to pay Rs forty lakh and told that 2 players have already united to the offer. Sathish aforesaid that he said ‘sorry’ to the offer,” scan the complaint.
Sathish has competed in 34 matches in the IPL and has scored 270 runs at an average of 15.88 and a strike rate of 116.88. He last played an IPL game in the year 2016.
