Alcaraz won the opening set to get off to a fast start in the French Open, but Zverev battled back to win the next two. After winning the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, the Spaniard recovered and took command of the fourth and fifth sets to claim his second championship of 2024.

Alcaraz joined Albert Costa, Juan Carlos Ferrero, and Rafael Nadal as the four Spanish winners of the French Open. Also, it’s his third Grand Slam singles victory.

The 21-year-old will receive €2.4 million in prize money, while Zverev will receive €1.2 million for finishing in second place in Paris for the first time. Both Jannik Sinner and Casper Ruud, who both lost in the semifinals of the French Open, will receive €650,000.

The quarterfinals saw the elimination of the top seeds Novak Djokovic, ninth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, eleventh seed Alex de Minaur, and tenth seed Grigor Dimitrov, who will each get €415,000. The third-round losers will receive €158,000 apiece, while the eight players who were ousted in the fourth round will receive €250,000 apiece.

The players who lose in the first round of the French Open 2024 will receive payments of €73,000 each, while the 32 players eliminated in the second round will receive €110,000 each.

The Italian duo of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori were defeated 7-5, 6-3 in the final by Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, the ninth seed in the men’s doubles competition at the French Open 2024.

For the Honduran and Croatian players, it’s their second consecutive win; they won the Geneva Open the year before. Bolelli and Vavassori will take home €295,000 in prize money, while they will receive €590,000 in prize money. The pairs that lose in the quarterfinals will receive €80,000 apiece, while the pairs that are eliminated in the semifinals will receive €148,000 apiece.

In the men’s doubles competition at the Claycourt Major, the teams ousted in the second round will receive €27,500 each, while the couples eliminated in the third round will receive €43,500 apiece. Each of the teams who fell short in the first round will receive €17,500.
