GGW vs RCBW WPL 2025: The very first match of the WPL 2025 season between Gujarat Giants Women (GGW) and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCBW) was not just a normal match. It was loaded with twists and turns, not just the first inning but both innings became the moments that had fans are talking about.

Gujarat Giants captain Ashleigh Gardner delivered a mind-blowing performance that lit up the first match of WPL 2025. She smashed the first-ever hat-trick sixes in Women’s Premier League (WPL) history, she did it in the middle overs. Gardner’s 79* off 37 balls, with eight sixes and three fours, played a key role in helping the Gujarat Giants Women’s team to set a challenging total of 201/5 in 20 overs.
On top of that, Gardner reached her half-century in just 25 balls, and after this, she made her name on the list of the top six fastest fifties in WPL history by any player. This performance not only set the rhythm for this match but also for the rest of the WPL 2025 season.
In this first-inning match of WPL 2025, GGW vs RCBW, Gardner stole the highlights with her massive sixes, and on the other side of the pitch, Beth Mooney supported the team with 56 runs from 42 balls and became the first player to score a fifty in the WPL 2025 season. Her calm and composed batting gave Gujarat a solid start after a few early wicket losses.
Despite the quick dismissals of Laura Wolvaardt and Dayalan Hemalatha, Mooney’s partnership with Gardner helped Gujarat recover and reach a tough total.

However, Alice Perry and Raghavi Bisht brought RCB back into the game with a solid partnership, and by the end of the powerplay RCB had reached 51/2.

Richa Ghosh’s energetic performance with 64 runs off just 27 balls, including four sixes and seven boundaries became the best moment of the GGW vs RCB first match of the WPL 2025 season. Richa’s aggressive batting completely changed the game.
Kanika Ahuja provided support with 30 runs in just 13 balls with four boundaries and ensured RCBW’s wicket. Their partnership helped RCBW to reach the goal, as they successfully chased down Gujarat’s total of 201 in 18.3 overs with just four wickets down.
