Hardik Pandya has become the ultimate star in the eyes of the fans and cricket fraternity with his recent performance. The all-rounder first dominated the IPL as he led the debutant Gujrat Titans towards their maiden title win. And now continuing his blazing form, he acquired the man of the match accolade in the match against Pakistan.
Seeing his performance in the Asia Cup, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh thinks he’s made to captain India in the future. Singh went on to note that Pandya reminds him of MS Dhoni as their calm demeanor and sharp minds resemble closely.
“He should become captain, I think he will become captain. Hardik has shown a different avatar in the recent past. He has become like an MS Dhoni, he is very calm and composed. Pandya is batting very well and he trusts his ability very much,” Harbhajan Singh said. “When he goes out to bat, there is a different level of swag. He has worked so hard and returned to action that he knows he will be able to do the job and win games for India,” he added.
“I do see him becoming captain of India. The way he showcased his temperament during the match against Pakistan, and during the IPL as well, was brilliant. I think he has got all the capabilities to be the national team’s captain going forward,” he further added.

Hardik Pandya has opened up about idolizing MS Dhoni many times before. Even recently after his redemption and majestic performances, he credited the former captain for his growth as a player. “MS Dhoni has played a big role in my growth. Whenever I got an opportunity, I used to observe him and learn things. The kind of mindset and knowledge he had, just observing it, it has reflected in my personality on the field,” said Hardik in his recent interaction.
