Hockey Haryana defeated Round Glass Punjab Hockey 3-0 in a one-sided match to win the 33rd All India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial U-14 Hockey Tournament at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Stadium on Sunday. Prince (11th minute), Aryan (48th minute), and skipper Ronit (59th minute) all scored one goal for Hockey Haryana. Round Glass Punjab failed to open their account despite their best attempts. Uttar Pradesh Grace was defeated 3-0 by Flicker Brothers Shahabad in the contest for third and fourth place. The only other player to score three goals in the 12th, 42nd, and 57th minutes was captain Jas Kirat. The event’s principal guest, sports minister Girish Chandra Yadav, complimented the young athletes and highlighted the accomplishments of the government in the sports sector. At the event were Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary for sport, Pawan Singh Chauhan, a member of the Karam group, and Javed Siddique. the best goalie was Fardeen Khan of Round Glass, the best defender was Ronit of Haryana Hockey, the best half was Zainul of UP Grace, the best forward was Jas Kirat of Flicker Brothers, and the best player overall was Sanjay of Hockey Haryana (Man of the tournament).
