Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting expressed his excitement over the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League through a tweet. IPL 14 is all set to start from April 9, 2021.
Ina light-hearted tweet, he wrote that he hoped Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin had some wickets left as they picked a lot of wickets against England in the recent series. Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin outplayed England in the whole series. Axar picked 27 wickets in his debut series despite not being the part of the first match that was played in Chennai, On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin won Man of the series by picking 32 wickets.
Ponting came up with the tweet after the schedule for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2021 was announced on Sunday. He also tweeted about Rishabh Pant who is in great form recently. He wrote on his official page:
“Can’t wait to get over to @delhicapitals and get to work. Hope @akshar2026 and @ashwinravi99 have some wickets left after taking all of them in the last month, and @rishabhpant17 has more runs to make”
Axar Patel, Ravi Ashwin and Rishabh Pant are the integral part of the franchise Delhi Capitals which reached the finals of IPL 2020 under the leadership of young skipper Shreyas Iyer.
