Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the three-match ODI series and clean swept the host. Shikhar Dhawan who was named captain for this series praised Shubman Gill for his amazing performance in this particular series. Shubman Gill opened the innings with Shikhar Dhawan in all the matches played in this series.

Indian cricket team under Shikhar Dhawan became the first team to whitewash West Indies in their home ground. Shikhar Dhawan’s opening partner Shubman Gill was named ‘player of the series’ for scoring most runs in these three matches. Shubman Gill recorded two half-centuries in these three games against West Indies. He was a bit unlucky as he could have got his maiden ODI century in the third ODI against West Indies.

Indian opening batter Shubman Gill remained not out on 98 runs in the third ODI before the rain interupted the play. Because of rain, Shubman Gill couldn’t go to the pitch with his pads on and by using DLS Method a target was given to West Indies. Shubman Gill had an amazing chance to get to his first ODI century in blue jersey but unfortunately it didn’t happen.
