Women’s World Cup 2025: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has dropped the biggest surprise of the year ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. With just weeks to go before the tournament, the governing body has unveiled ticket prices that are unbelievably low, sparking excitement among cricket lovers everywhere.
Women’s World Cup 2025 – The Most Affordable World Cup Ever
For the very first time, fans will be able to watch an ICC global event for as little as ₹100, roughly \$1.14. This move makes the upcoming 50-over Women’s World Cup 2025 the most affordable World Cup in history.

The announcement was made on Thursday, September 4, during a special four-day pre-sale. To put it into perspective, tickets in the 2022 edition in New Zealand started much higher at ₹350 for kids and ₹850 for adults.
By slashing prices, the ICC wants millions of fans across India, Sri Lanka, and beyond to get the chance to witness world-class cricket right from the stands.
And the surprises don’t end there. The ICC has also quadrupled the prize money, raising it to \$13.88 million compared to \$3.5 million in 2022.
Google Pay Users Get Early Access
The ICC is giving fans using Google Pay a special four-day pre-sale window on Tickets.cricketworldcup.com. This offer runs until 7:00 PM IST on Monday, September 8. After that, the second phase of sales opens at 8:00 PM IST on Tuesday, September 9, on the same website.
The pre-sale covers all round-robin league matches for Google Pay users. Fans who miss out can still register for the next phase, which will unlock more ticketing options. With prices set this low, tickets are expected to be snapped up quickly.
Women’s World Cup 2025 – Who’s Playing and When
This year marks the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s World Cup, featuring eight top teams: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, and South Africa.
The action begins on September 30 in Guwahati, where hosts India will take on Sri Lanka in the opening clash.
A Star-Studded Opening Ceremony
To make the event even more special, the ICC has announced that music superstar Shreya Ghoshal will headline the Grand Opening Ceremony in Guwahati. She will perform just before the tournament kicks off with India vs Sri Lanka on September 30.
Shreya Ghoshal, who has also recorded the official anthem of the tournament titled “Bring it Home,” will bring her powerful voice to the stage, blending music, culture, and cricket into an unforgettable show.
India Hosts After 12 Years
This will be the first time in 12 years that India is hosting the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. The BCCI is pulling out all the stops to ensure the tournament is not just historic but truly memorable for fans worldwide.
