Fans were disappointed after the Indian cricket team’s batting masters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma struggled to score runs in the second innings of the ongoing second Test match against Australia. The game is being played at the Adelaide Oval, and Day 2 is happening now.
Virat Kohli Struggles Under Boland’s Challenge in Second Test
In particular, Virat Kohli was the one who was challenged the most by Scott Boland. Kohli defended the ball and took some quick singles, however, it seemed inevitable that he would soon get out, especially after struggling several times.
And as expected Virat was dismissed by Scott Boland, who bowled a stunning delivery to get rid of the Indian batting maestro. It was a full and pitched delivery on the fourth-fifth stump line. Kohli adjusted to the angle and lunged forward to defend the delivery, however, he failed miserably as the ball kept its line.

It has to be noted that this wasn’t the first time that Kohli was beaten by Boland. Kohli had been dismissed in the same fashion multiple times by Scott Boland before finally edging one, allowing the Aussie pacer to take his second wicket.
This was Virat Kohli’s second failure in the ongoing match. He scored only 11 runs off 21 balls, including one four that came from an edge. In the first innings, he scored just 7 runs off 8 balls. Virat Kohli’s disappointing dismissal put a lot of pressure on the Men in Blue, as they lost their third wicket of the day and were left struggling at 66/3.
Rohit Sharma Also Failed to Deliver Under Pressure in Second Innings
With the early dismissal of Virat Kohli, all the hopes were on the captain Rohit Sharma. However, he also left his fans disappointed as he failed to rise to the occasion and perform under pressure. As the captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit was expected to lead the team and get them out of trouble. However, that didn’t happen.

Rohit was also seen struggling with his time at the crease. Pat Cummins bowled a perfect delivery that hit the top of the off-stump, sending Rohit back after he scored just 6 runs off 15 balls.
Meanwhile, as the senior batters of the Indian cricket team struggled yet again to score runs, fans on social media reacted strongly to it. Fans criticized the players and called for their retirement. Here are some of the reactions:
Boland was continuously bowling the same length to get Virat Kohli out and he was successful on that. 🥲#INDvsAUS pic.twitter.com/7bF5V4DjLT

Once I tweeted that if Sachin Tendulkar had played in today's era, he might not have been as successful as Virat Kohli.
I apologize for that tweet. pic.twitter.com/mO04PVVxLM

I never thought that I would say this but it's a fact – Virat Kohli is too inconsistent in Test cricket in the last 5 years. So so disappointed

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma must be playing their last test series. Honestly can't trust these so called senior and superstar batsman to score even a single run in challenging test cricket these days. Totally feel disconnect.
Time for india to build a young team and throw these… pic.twitter.com/cYXwjBW1DD
