IND vs ENG, Final, T20 World Cup 2024: The T20 World Cup final is here and India and South Africa, are the top two teams of the tournament. They are the only two teams in this World Cup who haven’t dropped a single game. Time is of the essence. This is the largest it gets! India and South Africa will face off in the World Cup final on Saturday at the famed Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. While India has not triumphed in an ICC world event since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013, South Africa is participating in their first World Cup final. We may be witnessing the final-ever ICC event featuring two of their best batters. Is India able to overcome the 11-year-old curse? Or will history be made by South Africa?
Both teams have not lost a single match in the competition. Except for the match against Canada, which was rained out, South Africa has won every match they have played. Similarly, India has won every match they have played. Two teams that have gone undefeated throughout the competition will play against each other in the final for the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup.
India, who finished second in 2014 after being defeated by Sri Lanka, will be participating in their third T20 World Cup final. They won the competition’s first edition in 2007. This will be South Africa’s first-ever T20 World Cup final.

It’s expected that both teams will stick with their winning lineup. Even though it makes sense for India to bring in Jaiswal and drop an outperformed Kohli to number three, they will not change their winning lineup. It is also expected that South Africa will select the same squad.

Kuldeep Yadav, who has been playing well in this competition, took three wickets in the semi-final match against England. For India, he will be crucial in the middle overs. Kuldeep has a remarkable record in Twenty20 International cricket, having taken 69 wickets at an average of 13.42 and a strike rate of 12.1 in 38 innings.
2. Rohit Sharma
In the last few games, Rohit Sharma has improved, and he will be crucial for India at the top of the order during the powerplay. Rohit is among the best hitters in the history of the T20 International format and has a stellar record there. In the competition, he is India’s top scorer.
Throughout this World Cup, Bumrah has been in outstanding form with the ball, returning with 13 wickets at an average of 8.15 and an economy of 4.12 in 7 games. For India with the new ball, he will be crucial. Bumrah has a 3.75 economy on the tournament’s powerplay.
With his ability to smash again, Hardik Pandya will be India’s most dangerous man in the lower order. With a strike rate that is almost 150 in the tournament, he will bring the game an extra push after the inning. This World Cup, Hardik has also made a few cameo appearances. Against Bangladesh, he hit 50 off just 27 deliveries.
With 13 wickets at an average of 13.46 and an economy of 5.64, Anrich Nortje leads South Africa in wicket-taking with his scorching form in the competition. On Barbados’ pace-friendly wicket, he will be destructive.
Not only is Quinton de Kock the top run scorer for South Africa at the World Cup, but he also has the highest strike rate among batters. During the powerplay, QDK will assault the Indian bowlers.
South Africa’s new ball will be a challenge for Kagiso Rabada. Throughout the competition, he has been in excellent form, taking 12 wickets at an economy rate of 5.88 at an average of 13.25. Rabada has a strong World Cup cricket record.
Heinrich Klaasen is a superb spinner and one of the most lethal finishers in white-ball cricket. After a calm competition, Klaasen is eager to compete in the championship match.

The historic Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, has held eight matches in this competition, with the honours shared by the teams batting first and chasing, each winning three games. The match between Scotland and England was cancelled due to weather, and Oman and Namibia played to a draw at the same venue. In eight matches, captains have chosen to bat second five times, indicating that they prefer to pursue after winning the toss in Barbados!
The average first innings score in Barbados throughout the tournament is 150/8, while the average second innings score is 134/5. Australia’s 201 against England is the highest score at the venue—it is the only occasion in the competition at Bridgetown where 200 was crossed! In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Barbados’s lowest team total is 109. At Barbados, there is a 42.9% chance of winning the match following the toss.
The pitch in Barbados will help the Pacers, as it always has. In Bridgetown, fast bowlers have claimed almost 70% of the wickets at an average of 19.7, a strike rate of 15.2, and an economy of 7.8. Barbados will see a mean temperature of 28 degrees on Saturday, but there’s a 70% probability of rain.

The Ind vs SA final will mostly feature a confrontation between India’s batting and South Africa’s quick bowling squad. Rohit Sharma’s struggle against Jansen, Rabada, and Nortje will be vital in the powerplay. For India, Jasprit Bumrah will be crucial with the new ball. Quinton de Kock is an important player for South Africa at the top of the order, while Stubbs and Klaasen will be the destructive game-changers in the middle order. Given their respective strengths and the fast-bowling-friendly conditions, South Africa is starting as the slight favourite with a 52% chance of winning.
