Ind vs Eng: Rohit Sharma clears air about Cheteshwar Pujara’s form

After too much speculation on Pujara’s form, yes he responds in a beautiful way with the bat. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli’s partnership bring India back to a fight against England. 

There were many speculations on Pujara’s form and that he should be dropped from the squad.

On day 3 of the test match against England, after a fighting 215/2 runs on stumps. The men in blue and crucial contributor, Rohit Sharma clears the air on the same.

In a virtual press conference held after yesterday’s match, Sharma said, “To be honest there hasn’t been any talk about Pujara’s batting. I think the talks are only happening outside. Not a single conversation has happened with Pujara regarding his form inside the team dressing room. We know the quality he brings, we know the experience he brings. When you have a guy like that, I don’t think there needs to be much discussion,” 

Clearing the misconceptions around Pujara’s form Rohit Sharma also speaks about Cheteshwar not scoring as many runs. But reminds everyone of his crucial partnership with Rahane at Lords. He also mentions that people forget about the past and don’t have the memories of the same.

Towards the end of this press conference, Rohit also mentions Pujara’s form in the day 3 of the test match addressing that his innings was not the easiest. This reminded everyone of the character of the individual, and shows the mindset of an individual as well. 

It will be interesting to see how team India go ahead with the 5-day test series against England.
