Ind vs Pak, Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha gave his team a bit of a scare on Wednesday after sitting out most of the practice session with a neck spasm, just days before their much-awaited Asia Cup 2025 clash against India.

Although Agha did show up with the squad at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai, he was spotted with a bandage wrapped around his neck and didn’t take part in the drills. According to Geo News, while the rest of the players went through warm-ups, stretching, and even a fun game of football, Agha stayed on the sidelines.

Currently ranked eighth in the world, Pakistan sees the Asia Cup 2025 as a chance to sharpen its skills before facing arch-rivals India in what promises to be a blockbuster showdown.

Spin to play a big role

Given the slow and sluggish UAE pitches, Pakistan’s decision to load up on spinners has already started to pay off. That strategy worked well during the Tri-Series and is expected to be crucial in the Asia Cup.

“We wanted to prepare in a way that helps us for the Asia Cup and we’ve done that,” Agha said earlier.

“We’ve been doing really well since the Bangladesh series at home. Now, we’re in very good shape and fully prepared.”

Pakistan is grouped with India, Oman, and Uthe AE in Group A. All eyes will be on Dubai this Sunday when Pakistan and India renew their famous rivalry.
