The Indian hockey team embarked on its journey to Muscat, Oman, for the inaugural FIH Hockey5s Men’s World Cup from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Securing their spot by defeating Pakistan in the Men’s Asian Hockey5s World Cup Qualifier final, India is placed in Pool B alongside Egypt, Jamaica, and Switzerland.

Led by experienced forward Simranjeet Singh and vice-captained by defender Mandeep Mor, the team boasts a formidable lineup, including goalkeepers Suraj Karkera and Prashant Kumar Chauhan. The group aims to make a strong debut in the Hockey5s World Cup, with their campaign starting against Switzerland on January 28, followed by matches against Egypt and Jamaica on the same day.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals are scheduled for January 30, with the final set to take place on January 31. The team is determined to deliver strong performances and aims to bring home a gold medal. Captain Simranjeet expressed his honor to lead the team, while vice-captain Mandeep emphasized the unity and determination of the team to make a mark in the tournament.
