Everyone is very happy with the host side winning the first ODI match against the Windies and leading the series by 1-0. One such player that played an important role in securing a victory was the leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal was out in the T20 world cup and there were many questions that were raised against the selection board owing to his selection. The leg spinner made a great comeback by picking up 4 wickets in 9.5 overs conceding just 49 runs including extras.
Yuzvendra Chahal confessed to his skipper Rohit Sharma that he grasped the value of introducing more googlies to his bowling and how it benefited him during the first ODI in Ahmedabad. Chahal who got Keiron Pollard out on zero revealed that the main man who helped him get batters was none other than the skipper Rohit Sharma who constantly told him to deliver more of googly balls.
Yuzvendra Chahal, said he realized the necessity of returning to bowling more googlies after seeing and learning from mistakes made during the South Africa trip. Chahal claimed that skipper Rohit Sharma’s comments during their training sessions prompted him to consider making slight tweaks to his bowling technique in the upcoming home series against the West Indies.
