India’s Jammu and Kashmir Rising Star Atiqa Mir Set to Race in National Karting Championship
Atiqa Mir, 9 years old from India’s Jammu and Kashmir, will make her long-awaited debut in the MECO-FMSCI National Karting Championship Rotax Max 2024 this weekend at Meco Kartopia.

In 2022, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) decided to give the top-ranked female driver under ten years old a taste of Indian racing. At the age of seven, she participated in two races.
She will be participating in all five rounds of the competition for the first time. She will compete in the 7–12-year-old Micro Max division for Team MSport Racing.
We have been eager to show our abilities in the extremely competitive Indian National Championship. It’s a homecoming for Atiqa, stated Asif Mir, the father of the young Indian karting champion and former Formula Asia racer.
Jammu and Kashmir’s Young Racer Atiqa Mir Set for National Karting
Atiqa, who is from India’s Kashmir, is well-known in the region already. She is currently training with George Gibbons Motorsports while staying in Dubai. Balancing the European and UAE Karting Championships is Atiqa’s speciality.
Atiqa began her karting career at the age of six. represented her first competitive race in 2021.
A competitor in the Micro Max and Mini X30 classes, Atiqa’s victories include being the current vice-champion in the UAE IAME National Championship, vice-champion in the Mena Cup, and second runner-up in the DAMC Cup.
Atiqa is also a race winner in the UAE IAME National Karting Championship (Mini R category), with many pole positions, fastest laps, and lap records.
