South Africa Women recorded their first T20I series win over India, with an amazing last-ball win in Lucknow. The six-wicket margin displays how close the win was for India.
South Africa, initially, needed 43 runs off 30 balls when Lizelle Lee was dismissed, and then after their most experienced player, Mignon du Preez was out, they required 19 runs off 10 balls. As the game continued, RSA-W needed 9 runs off the last over and six, when the last two balls were remaining. Laura Wolvaardt took it under her and recorded her third T20I half-century during the game.
India’s low fielding, several missed catches, and miss-fields resulted in losing the game. India posted their 18th of 150 or more and would have been very disappointed with their performance, given that they have done so on nine out of twelve occasions before.
