Inter Milan drop vital two points, as they drew 2-2 against Sampdoria, away from home. As a result, Inter Milan is in second place behind Napoli who won against Juventus last night.
The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to a stunning free-kick goal from Federico Dimarco. The defender sent a powerful shot to the far post impossible to save. However, Sampdoria equalized in the 33rd minute of the match thanks to a deflection. Sampdoria’s center-back Maya Yoshida took a shot inside the box which took a deflection of an Inter defender and rolled past a rather confused Handanovic.
Lautaro Martinez restored the lead for the champions in the 44th minute of the match. Nicolo Barella played a beautiful cross from just outside of the right-hand side of the penalty area to Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine volleyed home the goal with a stunning first-time shot. This was Martinez’s second goal in as many league games for Inter this season.
However, Sampdoria stunningly equalized the score just after the break. The right-back Bartosz Bereszyński from the right-wing played across to the far post, where the left-back Tommaso Augello arrived. The left-back took an amazing first-time volleyed effort and scored in the near post.
With the score level at 2-2, Simone Inzhagi made some substitutions to help change the games, but it was in vain. The match ended 2-2 and as a result, Inter Milan is in second place trailing Napoli by two points. Meanwhile, Sampdoria with this draw is up to 13th in the table having drawn 2 and lost 1 in their three games so far in the league. Inter could fall as low as 7th in the table depending upon other results. Inter next play Real Madrid in the Champions League this week.
