Chennai Super Kings while chasing 172 made an excellent start and scored 50 runs in the first six overs. Chennai’s opener Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave the headstart Chennai wanted and scored some good cricketing shots. Both of them maintained the asking rate which will help CSK to cross the target line easily in the last few overs.
Chennai batsmen were in full flow specially Faf du Plessis as he scored 32 of 19 balls in the Powerplay overs. His shots were well connected with the bat and were beautiful to watch. The in-form Chennai Batsmen scored 5 boundaries in the first six overs and looked sharp as he had full support from Ruturaj at the other end. Ruturaj played a supportive role in the innings and scored 17 runs with the help of 2 fours in the powerplays.
Chennai’s opening has been very good in recent past matches as Faf du Plessis has been consistently in form. Surely, the opening partnership will help CSK to chase down the target easily if they continue to bat for a while.
