IPL 2021 was announced to be suspended indefinitely on the 4th of May due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in various franchises. Since then many of the overseas players have either already left for their home or have reached their countries. Mumbai Indians players have also now reached their home safely.
On Sunday Franchise informed that all of their 14 overseas members that included players and support staff have reached their destinations safe and sound. They had 1 West Indian player, 3 South African members, 3 Australian members, 6 members from New Zealand, and 1 from Sri Lanka in their squad.

Mumbai Indians arranged a special Chartered flight for all of its players to felicitate their safe journey. 4 of their players ha l did in the Maldives. This included 3 Australian members and 1 Sri Lankan.
This is because the borders of their countries were closed due to the rise of cases in India. Those players will undergo some days of isolation before leaving for their respective countries from the Maldives.
