IPL 2021: Andre Russell reveals bizarre cricketing superstitions he believes in

Players all around the world believes in one thing or other that works well for them if they practice certain things. Most of the cricketers as well are known for having some superstitions attached to them. Talking about the same, the Kolkata Knight Riders star, Andre Russell revealed some of his superstitions he practices before entering the field for a match.

The West Indies star threw lights on two such things he believes in. KKR recently spent some time with Shivam Mavi and Andre Russell for their Knight Club series and made out some controversial observations. When talking about superstition, Russell stated that he puts his left leg first over the rope while entering the field and he also believes in tapping his bat for four times before smashing his first delivery.

“Yeah of course. Every player has superstitions. Some are over the moon, while some are simpler. My superstition would be making sure that my left leg goes over the rope first before I enter the field. I tap my bat for four times before the bowler approaches me. If I don’t do that, I feel that I am not going to do well when the ball is bowled,” the Caribbean player revealed while talking to KKR.

Russell was at his usual form in their last match against CSK. Although KKR lost the match, Andre Russell didn’t disappoint his fans with his performance on the crease. While talking to Russell, the KKR pacer Shivam Mavi also spoke about his superstitions which seemed like total opposite of the West Indies star. Mavi hasn’t played any math in the IPL 2021 yet.

“Yes, I have my superstitions as well. When I go to the ground, I put my right leg forward first. Yes it is the other way round to Andre Russell,” the 22-year-old pacer concluded.
