Youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored a hat-trick of half-centuries in the last three matches for CSK in IPL 2020, got off to a poor start in a new season as he was removed for 5 by Chris Woakes and removed on 5 again by Arshdeep Singh. Ruturaj Gaikwad was not looking comfortable at all in the middle. Gaikwad tries to pull Arshdeep but hits it straight into the hands of Deepak Hooda at deep square-leg on the score of five in 16 deliveries.

After enduring their worst season in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2020 (seventh position), MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were expected to make a strong comeback in IPL 2021 which returned to India. However, the Yellow Army got off to a losing start with a 7-wicket thrashing against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC). MS Dhoni and CO. are looking in a comfortable position against Punjab Kings.
