Kolkata Knight Riders were involved in one of the most impressive chase as they played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday, April 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Despite KKR’s incredible show, CSK managed to win the match by 18 runs and had the laugh.
Entering the field, both the teams made a few changes in their squad as CSK replaced Dwayne Bravo with Lungi Ngidi while KKR replaced Harbhajan Singh and Shakib Al Hasan with Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Sunil Narine respectively. Eoin Morgan won the toss and invited MS Dhoni and CO to bat first.
The CSK squad sent Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis as their opening duo and they didn’t disappoint while smashing the ball like anything all over the field. However, Varun Chakravarthy took Ruturaj Gaikwad’s dismissal as his first breakthrough of the match but it was too late as CSK already has their desired number with them. They went onboard and set a chase of 220 runs for KKR.
Chasing the target, KKR players gave their best in the form of Pat Cummins and Andre Russel. However, that was not nearly enough to win and at the end, Kolkata Knight Riders lost the game by 18 runs.
