IPL 2021: Dhawan-Shaw 100 runs partnership helps DC get going

Prithvi Shaw’s fearless batting and Shikhar Dhawan’s sensible support to him added 100 runs for the Delhi Capitals as they chase down 155. Shaw and Dhawan are both in good form this season their bats are flowing runs at the moment. Both the batsmen are among the top 3 batsmen with the highest runs this season. Shaw scored 82 runs off 36 balls and Dhawan contributed on 46 from 47 with his bat. The partnership added 132 runs for the first wicket as the run chase only needed 155 runs to win.

Shaw started the inning in style by collecting 25 runs from the very first over with the help of six boundaries and one wide. From there the KKR bowler failed to make a comeback as DC batsmen got stronger and stronger with the bat. Both the batsmen looked in full flow and it seemed like Dhawan played the support role to the wonderful inning by Prithvi Shaw.

Delhi till now has only lost one game while chasing this season and this match against KKR now looks like a formality to complete. Last season’s runners-up will want their openers to continue the form if they want to lift the trophy this season.
