Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel has selected Rishabh Pant as the X Factor for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. He said that Pant should not try to be like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is a brilliant player in himself.
Rishabh Pant has been named as the captain of the Delhi Capitals for this season. Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the IPL due to a shoulder injury. That’s why this opportunity has been given to Pant.
Iyer captained the Delhi Capitals to the final in IPL 2020.
Parthiv Patel said that “Pant was not in his best form last season. The way he has batted for India this year, I think it gives him a lot of confidence. When you play T20 matches This is what you want when you are playing. Especially players like Rishabh Pant do not want any doubt in their mind. He was a burden compared to MS Dhoni and he tried to do it too, but he is a great player. He is not worried about becoming like MS Dhoni. He can be better than MS Dhoni or he can win the match on his own every time. So, I think Rishabh Pant will probably be the main player of Delhi Capitals”.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are set to play their first game against Chennai Super Kings(CSK), led by Dhoni, on April 10 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
