Delhi played host to the first match of IPL 2021 against Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, in which Kane Williamson’s ‘quick fire’ knock of 26* from 10 balls helps SRH in ascertaining 172 for CSK to chase.
SRH didn’t had their best of the times while they opted to bat first, as they lost Bairstow in the 3rd over of their innings. Skipper Warner and Manish Pandey struggled but held their ends firmly. Warner scored a slow, 57 off 55 balls while Manish Pandey scored 61 off 47 balls. Then in the last two overs, things took a strange turn. Kane Williamson smacked Sharduk Thakur for 20 runs in the 2nd last over and stood not out for 26 off 10 balls. Former CSK mate, Kedar Jadhav too joined the party in the last over and smacked Sam Curran, for a four and a mammoth six in last overs’ 5th and 6th ball respectively.
CSK had a balanced bowling on this match where Lungi Ngidi was the nick of the bowler as he dismissed 2 SRH batsman. Sam Curran got a wicket but Shardul Thakur again disappointed as he was thrashed for 20 runs in his last over and conceded 44 runs in his quota of 4.
Let’s see how CSK fares against SRH as they chase 172.
