IPL 2021: Nitish Rana imitates footballer Mesut Ozil’s celebration remark after scoring a fifty

Nitish Rana has started his IPL 2021 campaign with a great note.

Kolkata Knight Riders, in the third match of the IPL 2021 tournament KKR vs SRH, surprised everyone by sending Nitish Rana to open their innings with Shubham Gill in the ongoing match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both the teams are currently engaged in the match of the league. Rana, however, has justified the team’s decision by smashing a half century for them.

Rana and Gill gave the KKR team a strong start by adding the fifty inside the powerplay. By the time the powerplay ended, the left handed batsman was at 36 while his partner Gill was on 14. Later on, Rashid Khan dismissed Shubham Gill with a phenomenal delivery.

Nitish Rana, meanwhile, continued with his amazing performance and completed his fifty before coming up with the celebration remark. He finished his fifty in the 10th over by smashing a six from Vijay Shankar as the bowler. And soon after hitting fifty, he raised his bat and showed the three finger hand gesture. The fingers resembled the letter M.

The celebration was before made popular by German football player, Mesut Ozil. In the past, as it have been noticed, the World Cup winner had revealed that his ‘M’ signature is the tribute to his niece Mira. Rana must have had some similar reason for the hand gesture celebration, but it is not really known yet.

Talking about the match, Rana scored 80 runs as KKR went on to score 187 runs in their 20 overs against SRH.
