On the fourteenth day of IPL 2021, the Punjab Kings will go head-to-head against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
While Punjab Kings have managed to register themselves as a win, the Sunrisers Hyderabad are still struggling to get a win as they have lost all their matches almost identically. But both these teams occupy the bottom half of the points table in this season.
Punjab Kings have had a pretty good run in terms of batting during the Mumbai leg of the season as Wankhede proved to be a hitting ground for them, but it remains a mystery on how they will keep with the Chennai leg of the league. The Aussie duo of Riley Meridith and Jhye Richardson has so far failed to deliver anything for the team in terms of bowling, this seems like a thing of concern for captain K L Rahul, as he has players like Ravi Bishnoi, Moises Henriques, Fabian Allen, and Chris Jordan to choose from, apart from bowling, the Punjab Kings batting order has done a decent job with K L Rahul performing very well for them, if Manish Pandey goes big in his batting things will sound good for Punjab as to set a high score for chasing.
On the other hand, Hyderbad Sunrisers have a good head-to-head record against Punjab kings, but the concern is their current form that is extremely problematic. Sunrisers have lost all three of their first matches, and what’s concerning is that all three were lost almost the same way. The bowling attack seems to be sloppy while the batting order is surely missing a sturdy batsman in the middle order, Kane Williamson could prove to be a right fit. Apart from that, David Warner, Vijay Shankar, and Rashid Khan have been performing consistently for them.
With both teams in need of a desperate win, the match comes down to the wire as they go all out today on the pitch for a chance to move to the upper half of the points table.
