On Tuesday’s match between, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals, the match that would determine who would get the top spot on the points table was won by RCB in the most thrilling way of this season by just one run.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bowl, as their bowlers started attacking, RCB batsmen especially the openers and top-order wickets fell like skittles, Avesh Khan, Ishaan Sharma, and Amit Mishra yet again proved the best on the Delhi side with their effectiveness on the bowling end by taking essential wickets for the team, but Rajat Patidar and AB De Villiers changed the pace of the match and bought RCB back on their feet, after Patidar’s dismissal, AB De Villiers reminded everyone why he is the savior for RCB once again as he went on to score 75 runs for the team when they needed it the most, taking the total to 171 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing a total of 172 runs, Delhi Capitals were also in for a shock as Kyle Jamieson dismissed Shikhar Dhawan, the orange cap holder of the season for just 6 runs early in the match, leading to the top order to distress and thus causing a chain action of wickets that haunted Delhi. Harshal Patel, Kyle Jamieson, and Siraj bowled exceptionally well for RCB but Rishabh Pant and Hitmyer didn’t back down as they bought Delhi back into the game making it seem like they were going to win.

The match came down to the wire where Delhi needed 5 runs off of one ball, where Rishabh Pant ended up scoring a boundary, leading RCB to win the match by 1 run.

All thanks to Mohammad Siraj’s bowling in the final over where he bowled some amazing yorkers to defend the 14 run mark where he finally managed to restrict Pant and Hitmyer at 13 for a nail-biting finish to take the match home and a spot on top of the IPL 2021 points table.
