After a stormy half-century from AB De Villiers, the patient bowling of Mohammed Siraj in the final over topped the points table by defeating Delhi Capitals by one run in the Royal Challengers Bangalore Indian Premier League here on Tuesday. Bangalore team also broke the order of four consecutive defeats against Delhi Capitals. De Villiers made an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls with five sixes and three fours, helping the Bangalore team to 171 for five. Apart from them, Rajat Patidar (31) and Glenn Maxwell (25) also played useful innings.

Bangalore’s team were able to add 77 runs in the final seven overs. De Villiers also achieved the feat of completing 5000 runs in the lowest balls in the IPL during this innings.

In response, Delhi team made a stormy half-century of Shimron Hetmyer (25 balls, 53 not out, four sixes, two fours) and his unbroken 78-run partnership in 7.2 overs with skipper Rishabh Pant (58 not out off 48 balls, six fours). Despite being able to score 170 runs for four wickets in 20 overs.

Delhi needed 14 runs in the final over of Siraj but the team could only manage 12 runs. With this win Bangalore have 10 points from five wins in six matches and the team is on top.
