The Indian Premier League will start its 16th season with the fan favorite MS Dhoni-led side, Chennai Super Kings taking on the last year’s champion Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The 4-time champions, CSK will don their traditional yellow jersey during the season.
Their opponent in the season opener Hardik Pandya-led side GT will retain the primary style of their jersey from their debut season. The jersey’s primary color is navy blue with gold and white stripes on the jersey. Their jersey design takes inspiration from their Principal Partner, Ather Energy as there are energy bolts on the jersey.
On Saturday in the first double clash of the season, the Kolkata Knight Riders will take on the Punjab Kings in the afternoon in Punjab. KKR is currently without their designated skipper, Shreyas Iyer who has been replaced by Nitish Rana as the Captain. The two-time champions will wear their traditional violet jersey with a bit of gold color in it.
PBKS will wear their red jersey also having gold stripes on the shoulder and the bottom.
In the evening clash, Lucknow Super Giants will play host to the Delhi Capitals. The KL Rahul-led side had the biggest change of jersey from the last season. In a massive event Secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah unveiled the LSG jersey. Their jersey color is dark blue with red stripes in between.
DC will wear their blue colored jersey. Their jersey will have red shoulders.
On Sunday afternoon SunRisers Hyderabad will be playing host to Rajasthan Royals. The 2016 champion side, SRH will wear their traditional orange jersey with black shoulders.
Last year’s runner-up, RR will wear a pink jersey with blue-colored shoulders.
The Sunday evening clash is probably the biggest match till now as Royal Challengers Bangalore plays host to five-time champions Mumbai Indians. The fan favorites, RCB will don their traditional red and dark blue jersey during the season.
The Rohit Sharma-led side is not a team that changes its jersey design very often. MI will wear a blue jersey with golden stripes on the shoulders and sides.
