Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a 12-run loss to Mumbai Indians (MI), which equaled the record for the most home losses in IPL history, with 45 defeats at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This matched Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) 45 losses at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Despite an impressive 89-run knock by Karun Nair on his IPL comeback, DC’s chase of 206 runs fell apart at the end due to a batting collapse, which included three run outs. MI posted 205/5, thanks to a half-century from Tilak Varma and key contributions from Surya Kumar Yadav and Naman Dhir.
In DC’s chase, they lost early with Jake Fraser McGurk getting out for a golden duck. Apart from Nair’s knock, Abishek Porel was the only other batter to score 33 runs. DC finished at 193/10 in 19 overs, breaking their four-match winning streak. MI’s victory lifted them to seventh place with two wins and four losses, while DC remained in second place.
