The 2022 IPL winners, Gujarat Titans (GT), are reportedly the first team to start training again after the IPL 2025 season was put on hold. Most of the team has gathered at their home ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, although a few overseas players are still missing.

Both Indian and foreign players took part in the training session, including Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, and Sherfane Rutherford. Officials from the Gujarat Titans and the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) have confirmed the details of the session.
“They were to disperse today but with the announcement of ceasefire and talk of an early resumption happening, they decided to stay on in Ahmedabad,” GCA and GT members told Cricbuzz.

IPL 2025 Resumption Uncertain: BCCI Awaiting Government Approval
The future of IPL 2025 is still unclear. The BCCI is working on new plans and talking to everyone involved, but they are waiting for the government’s approval. The tournament was paused for a week after Pakistan entered Indian airspace, which led the organizers to stop the matches for safety reasons.

After the tournament was suspended, most players returned home, but the entire Punjab Kings (PBKS) coaching staff, including Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin, and James Hopes, chose to stay in India.
This is different from earlier reports that suggested the Australian staff wanted to leave. The BCCI helped by arranging a special train for the PBKS players to travel from Dharamsala to Delhi.
Punjab is currently in third place with 15 points from 11 matches. Their game against Delhi Capitals (DC) was stopped due to a light tower malfunction, and both teams were escorted from the venue. The IPL then announced a one-week suspension of the season.
