Virat Kohli’s recent decision to retire from Test cricket has touched the hearts of millions. When Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) plays the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday, May 17 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, supporters of the team are organizing a special tribute as a show of love and respect.
A generation of cricket fans were inspired by Kohli’s incredible red-ball career, which came to an end when he announced his Test retirement on May 12. To honour his contribution to Test cricket, RCB supporters have come up with a unique idea they want the crowd to wear white during the game, just like Test match clothing, as a symbolic tribute to their hero.
Fans Request Everyone to Wear White for Virat Kohli
RCB fans shared an emotional message on social media, urging people attending the game to dress in white jerseys or plain white t-shirts. Their goal is to create a stadium filled with white as a heartfelt tribute to the man who made them fall in love with Test cricket.

One fan’s post read:
“Virat made many of us love Test cricket. Even if we didn’t get to watch him live in whites, this is our way to say thank you. His impact isn’t just about numbers, it’s in our hearts. We can also raise funds to give away white shirts near the stadium if needed.”
The message quickly gained attention online, with thousands supporting the idea and spreading the word.
Harsha Bhogle Reacts to the Gesture
Hey @RCBTweets fans, are you planning to turn up in white for the game on the 17th? Remember seeing a post suggesting that. It will be incredible and a sight for the ages if true and if you can pull it off.

Veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle responded to the tribute plan. He praised the creativity and emotion behind it, calling it a “sight for the ages” if fans could make it happen.
“Hey RCB fans, are you planning to turn up in white for the game on the 17th? It would be incredible if true,” Bhogle posted on X.
However, he also pointed out a possible issue wearing all white might make it harder for players to see the white cricket ball during the game. “Picking the ball in a white backdrop will become very difficult,” he added.
A Big Day for RCB On and Off the Field
Apart from the emotional tribute, the match against KKR is also very important for RCB in the IPL 2025 season. They are currently second on the points table, just behind Gujarat Titans. A win on Saturday would confirm RCB’s place in the playoffs, making them the first team this season to do so.
With the home crowd expected to be loud and united in white, the stage is set for a truly memorable evening one that celebrates both cricketing success and a legend’s legacy.
