MS Dhoni is getting ready for IPL 2025, which starts on March 22 with the first match between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
CSK will begin their campaign on March 23, facing their big rivals Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
MS Dhoni’s Impressive Form Ahead Of IPL 2025
MS Dhoni looks to be in good form, as he was seen practicing hard during CSK’s training session. He was retained by CSK before the IPL 2025 mega auction. CSK will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took over as captain last season.
A video shared on X showed the former Indian captain hitting a short delivery out of the park in the nets, making it look easy. This could be a glimpse of what fans can expect if the veteran gets into his rhythm during the IPL 2025.

MS Dhoni hasn’t played since May 2024 after CSK’s final IPL 2024 league match against RCB. Despite batting lower down the order, he scored 161 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 220.55. Dhoni played as a pinch hitter and finisher, dismissed only three times. Now 43, he enters his 18th IPL season, having handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Fans are eager to see if he takes on a larger batting role this season.
MS Dhoni has played 264 IPL matches, scoring 5,243 runs at an average of 39.12, with 24 half-centuries. His highest score is an unbeaten 84.
Chennai Super Kings will start their IPL 2025 season with a big match against Mumbai Indians on March 23 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
