Fans were once again left disappointed after Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant gave yet another flop performance in the just-concluded IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Chasing a big target of 216 runs, Lucknow Super Giants lost two early wickets, and all the hopes were on their captain Rishabh Pant, who has changed the game with his batting heroics in the past. However, it was another tough game for Rishabh Pant, as he failed to impress his fans and was dismissed after struggling to score runs once again.
Rishabh Pant came in to bat at number four after Lucknow Super Giants were 60 for 2. He looked unsure at the start, as the first ball he faced took the edge of his bat. It seemed like he would take his time to settle in.
But that didn’t happen. On just his second ball, Pant tried a reverse sweep against Will Jacks, who had bowled a slow, tossed-up delivery. The shot didn’t work, and Pant hit it straight to Karn Sharma at short third man.
It was a big moment for Will Jacks, who celebrated after taking his second wicket in the over. Pant was dismissed for just 4 runs from 2 balls, leaving Lucknow in trouble at 64 for 3.
This was another poor outing for the LSG captain, who has so far not lived up to his massive ₹27 crore price tag. Now, players like David Miller and Ayush Badoni will need to step up and lead the chase.
As Rishabh Pant fell for yet another low score in the IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians, fans on Twitter were quick to express their frustration. Many criticized his shot selection, with some even calling him a “fraud” in T20 cricket. Here, check out the reactions of fans:
