Punjab Kings made a costly mistake when Nehal Wadhera and Josh Inglis had a hilarious mix-up while running between the wickets, resulting in a run-out. Both batters ended up at the same end of the pitch, allowing Virat Kohli and Tim David to combine and run out Wadhera for just 5 runs.

Strong Start for PBKS, But Early Wickets Throw Them Off

Punjab Kings got off to a strong start against Bengaluru as Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put up 42 runs for the first wicket. However, after both departed, the team struggled to build a partnership. Shreyas Iyer (6) and Nehal Wadhera (5) followed soon after, leaving PBKS with a lot to think about during the middle overs.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to field first. RCB made one change, bringing in Romario Shepherd to replace the out-of-form Liam Livingstone for the match.

We’re going to bowl first. Wicket looks decent, won’t change much. Batting second will give more clarity about the game and the wicket. We’re not looking at venues, just trying to play good cricket. Shepherd comes in for Livi,” Patidar said after winning the toss.

PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer echoed similar thoughts, saying, “We also wanted to bowl. At the end of the day, you always have to adapt according to the situation. Important to give ourselves some time, see how the ball is moving. It’s the first afternoon game for us. Hopefully, we get a good total on the board. The support we got, especially in the last game in this stadium, was outstanding. Same team.”

Interestingly, PBKS had beaten RCB just a couple of days ago in Bengaluru.
