Shaun Marsh‘s hitting was most explosive when he played for Kings XI Punjab, now called Punjab Kings. During his time in the Indian Premier League, the southpaw was a mainstay at the top of the order and almost always got Punjab off to a quick start. He ended his time in the league with one century and 20 half-centuries. But none of his IPL seasons came close to his debut season in 2008 when he scored 616 runs in 11 games and won the orange cap.

David Warner, the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was the first international player in the history of the Indian Premier League to reach 5000 runs and the fastest 6000 runs surpassing Virat Kohli in the last IPL. Warner reached out and touched the historic number while the squad was playing against the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. Overall, Warner has become only the fourth batsman in the league’s history to hit more than 5000 runs.
