Old Irfan Pathan Video Resurfaces, Sparks Social Media Buzz: Social media has a way of digging up old content and making it trend again, and that’s exactly what’s happening right now. A five-year-old video of Irfan Pathan is suddenly doing the rounds, sparking debates and plenty of chatter online.

Irfan Pathan on His Exit From Team India

In the clip, Irfan Pathan talks about his exit from the Indian cricket team. Fans will remember that he last played for India in 2012, signing off with a five-wicket haul in what turned out to be his final ODI.

Full List Of Commentators For England vs India Test series Announced - Irfan Pathan

In the video, Irfan Pathan shares how he once asked MS Dhoni about comments he had heard in the media regarding his bowling.

Yes, I asked him. During the 2008 Australia series, Mahi bhai’s statement came out in the media that Irfan wasn’t bowling well. I thought I had bowled well throughout the series, so I went and asked Mahi bhai about it. Sometimes, statements get twisted in the media, so I wanted to clarify. Mahi bhai said, ‘No Irfan, there is nothing like that. Everything’s going as per plan.’ When you get a reply like that, you believe it and do what you can. If you keep asking for explanations again and again after that, you hurt your self-respect,” Irfan Pathan said.

The “Hookah” Comment That Went Viral

He went on to add: “I don’t have a habit of setting up a hookah in someone’s room or talking unnecessarily. Everyone knows. Sometimes, it’s better not to speak. A cricketer’s job is to perform on the field, and that’s what I focused on.”

It was the “hookah” remark that caught fire on social media. Many users suggested that Pathan was indirectly taking a dig at Dhoni.

Irfan Pathan’s Witty Response to a Fan

Things escalated further on Thursday when a fan commented on X under a photo of Irfan Pathan with Mohammed Shami: “Pathan bhai, woh hookah ka kya hua? (Pathan bhai, what happened to the hookah)?”

Irfan Pathan cheekily replied: “Main aur @msdhoni saath baith kar piyenge 😉 (Me and MS Dhoni will sit together and smoke).”

Hinting at a Bigger Conspiracy

Later, Pathan hinted that the resurfacing of the video wasn’t just random.

Half twisted old video surfacing NOW with a twisted context to the statement. Fan war? PR lobby?” he wrote on X.
