There’s always going to be extra attention when the name “Ronaldo” is involved. This time, though, it’s not about Cristiano Ronaldo himself but his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who has taken another step in his early football journey.
The youngster was spotted training with Real Madrid’s U-16 side on Tuesday, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. While it might look like just another academy session on the surface, there’s a bit more to it. The feeling around it is that this wasn’t random, there’s a genuine possibility he could end up joining the club’s youth system in the near future.

Can Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. follow the footsteps of his father?
For anyone who followed Cristiano Ronaldo’s career, the connection makes sense. Madrid is where he built a huge part of his legacy, and now his son getting a chance to train there feels like things coming full circle in a way.
Cristiano Jr. has already spent time in different academies as his father moved clubs over the years, so he’s not new to adapting. Still, training in Madrid’s setup is a different level altogether. It’s less about the name and more about whether he fits into what the club is looking for.
The academy often called “La Fabrica”—has a reputation for being demanding. Plenty of talented players pass through it, but only a few really make it to the top. If he does end up joining, he’ll have to prove himself like anyone else.
At the same time, it’s hard to ignore the curiosity around him. People will naturally compare him to his father, whether that’s fair or not. From what’s been seen so far, he’s got a good feel for the game, but he’s still very early in his development.
Right now, nothing is confirmed. It’s just a training session but one that could lead to something bigger. If it does, it’ll be interesting to see how his story unfolds, especially at a club where the Ronaldo name already means so much.
