SKY is certainly the limit for Suryakumar Yadav. He dances and dazzles on the pitch. Some of his nonchalant shots are a nightmare to bowlers and a treat to his fans. The 32-year-old Indian already stamped his No. 4 position with a set of solid knocks, including a defiant 127 against England.

Surya’s aggressive approach as well as the amazing range of shots, makes him stand out from the rest of the Indian batters. He can play the v shots, the uppercuts, the lofted square drives, the scoops, and several other shots that have yet been named in the cricket dictionary. Yadav has been dearly called a 360-degree player by fans and experts.
Suryakumar Yadav and AB De Villiers: A comparison
AB De Villiers is probably the first batter to be regarded as a 360-degree player by the fans and media. A classic definition of a 360-degree player would definitely include the ability and skill to hit through all parts of the wicket. It was a special style of play and a treat to the fans. When ABD announced an early retirement, many fans were in shock, but he did not un-retire as he was feeling really tired.

Suryakumar Yadav presents a picture of style meeting confidence when he is batting. He brings in a certain amount of self-belief and power to his game and it benefits the team. Surya’s fearless approach makes him a fierce competitor, and his coolness sets him special. AB, a master finisher, was cool and composed in pressure situations. He took the team to victory several times with his clinical approach.
Speaking about Surya, former Aussie batting great Ricky Ponting said he has immense potential and added his stint at Kolkata Knight Riders helped him to grow as a skilful player. The exciting Indian talent’s landmark moment came when he joined the Mumbai Indians. Yadav was instrumental in guiding Rohit’s team to IPL titles. He sealed the number three role for his team, and Mumbai showed faith by retaining him in the IPL auction.
Can Surya become India’s ABD?
Surya is a late bloomer, while De Villiers got his chance way back in 2005. He played 13 years for South Africa and retired as a modern-day great. De Villiers was also a tremendous fielder and a good wicketkeeper to complement his batting. In total, he was definitely a multi-dimensional player.

The Mumbai batter is a decent fielder and does not keep wickets. But he has a lion-hearted spirit and tremendous will to carry his game and his team. Surya has really started with a bang. However, it is a long way to go for the Mumbai batter.
