Japan Masters 2024: Players Who Have Withdrawn
The main draw has now been finalised and some of the star players are missing from the tournament. Big players have withdrawn in all five categories of the event. 23 players have withdrawn from Japan Masters 2024.

The BWF Japan Masters 2024 is underway and shuttlers are giving their all in the final supers 500 series event of this season. The main draw has now been finalised and some of the star players are missing from the tournament. In men’s singles, Anders Antonsen had confirmed his absence from the main draw a month ago. He had reached the finals of the Denmark open last month. Chinese Taipei’s Lin Chun-Yi is another prominent shuttler to have given the tournament a miss. Indonesia’s Anthony Sinisuka Ginting also pulled out of the event.
Malaysia’s Soong Joo Ven and Cheam June Wei, who earlier missed the Korea Masters, will be absent in Japan too.
In women’s singles, five South Korean players have withdrawn from the event. Olympic gold medallist An Se-young is yet to recover from a knee injury. Kim Ga-Eun pulled out from the tournament two weeks back. She last competed in the Denmark Open in October. Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara continues to remain off the court as she has not featured in a match since the Japan Open in August.
In men’s doubles, the Malaysian pair of Teo Ee Yi/ Ong Yew Sin will not be around in Japan this time. In mixed doubles, the duo of Tan Kian Meng/ Lai Pei Jing and Roy King Yap/ Valeree Siow of Malaysia have withdrawn from Japan Masters 2024.
