After topping the quarter-finals and semi-finals earlier in the week, the Australian skater carried her scintillating momentum in the final.  She posted a 181.38 score ahead of Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Nakayama Funa (161.00) who came second and 13-year-old Matsumoto Ibuki (159.00) completing the podium.

“I was super nervous because I failed the first trick and then I only had one left. But I pulled myself together and trusted myself,” Covell told media persons.

The eight finalists in each category performed three runs and three tricks, with the best run score and the best trick score combined to determine the total score.
