Javelin Throw at LA28: The LA 2028 Olympics is scheduled to take place from July 14 to 30, 2028, in the United States. Los Angeles will be the host city, with various events also scheduled to be held at other cities spread across the Greater Los Angeles area, plus two subsites in Oklahoma City.
Athletes are gearing up for the big event and look to book their tickets for Los Angeles. Registration for LA28 Olympics tickets will begin in January 2026.
Organizers have now announced the schedule for Javelin Throw events at the LA 2028 Olympics which will be staged at the iconic LA Memorial Coliseum from July 20 to 24.
Athletes can qualify for the javelin throw at the Olympics based on achieving a specific qualifying standard or, failing that, world rankings.
The LA28 Olympic Games will mark the biggest Games ever, featuring 51 sports across 49 competition venues in 18 zones throughout the Los Angeles region and Oklahoma City.
The Games will feature a record-breaking number of female Olympians, with every team sport featuring an equal or greater number of women’s teams compared to men’s teams for the first time.
The full schedule for the LA28 Olympics was unveiled by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Wednesday. Athletics will take place in the first week of competition.
The Javelin Throw will begin with women’s qualification round that will take place on July 20 with athletes divided into two groups – A and B. This will be followed by the men’s qualification that is scheduled to take place on July 21, according to local time, and will be split into two groups.
The women’s final is slated for July 23, while the men’s final will be held on July 24.

In the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Arshad Nadeem posted an Olympic record of 92.97m to win Pakistan’s first individual gold medal at the Games. India’s Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal at Tokyo 2020, settled for silver in Paris while Anderson Peters of Grenada clinched bronze.
Japan’s Haruka Kitaguchi won the women’s title with a distance of 65.80m, followed by South Africa’s Jo-Ane van Dyk (silver) and Czechia’s Nikola Ogrodníková (bronze).
