The International Cricket Council recently announced the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will start on February 19. Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi will host the matches in Pakistan. Dubai has been selected as a neutral venue for all of Team India’s matches in the upcoming 50-over event.

There were earlier concerns that the event might be moved out of Pakistan, but it has been decided that the tournament will be played in a hybrid model. Group A includes Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, and Pakistan, while Group B consists of Australia, Afghanistan, England, and South Africa.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Stadium Upgrades Aimed at Meeting ICC International Standards

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is at risk due to delays in construction at the National Stadium in Karachi. According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, the first phase of renovations, which was supposed to be finished by December 15 and then extended to December 31, has still not been completed.

The renovation of the National Stadium was approved by PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi during a Governing Board meeting. While the structural work on the stadium is complete, finishing touches on the floors are still being done, and the removal of fencing around the ground is yet to be finished due to continuous delays.

Mohsin Naqvi has stated that the construction work at the National Stadium in Karachi is expected to continue into January. The renovation project, with a budget of PKR 3.5 billion, will go through additional phases to complete further developments.

Ground Floor: Rooms for the ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Anti-Doping Units, as well as spaces for match officials, are being built.

First Floor: Two dressing rooms are planned for construction.

Second and Third Floors: Hospitality boxes are set to be built on these floors.

Fourth Floor: A media center is scheduled for construction.

Additional Features: The first phase includes replacing the old scoreboard with new digital screens and installing modern LED lights.
