Kimi Antonelli Shares His Excitement On The Feat
Kimi Antonelli’s achievement is not just a personal milestone but also a historic one as he became the youngest driver to ever secure an F1 pole position. Speaking about his pole position, he said, “I am over the moon. I did not expect it. I was feeling good in the car. I was able to improve lap by lap and find that consistency and that gap came all together. I am super happy with that. We will enjoy this moment, but I want to focus on tomorrow because I really want to try to repeat myself.”
“It was really nice, and also to find him in the garage after qualifying. I am super-happy to share this moment with him. It is so important to me, he is like a rock. I can always rely on him. I would like to share it with my mum and sister as well, but hopefully next time,” he added
The pole position is especially notable because it broke the previous record for the youngest F1 polesitter, which was held by Sebastian Vettel, who achieved the feat at 21 years and 72 days old in 2008. Antonelli’s achievement came at just 18 years old, marking a benchmark for talent in sports.
The Sprint Qualifying itself was dramatic, with the leader board changing rapidly. Verstappen initially took the lead, however, Kimi Antonelli’s rapid rise shifted the momentum of the game. As the youngest ever to claim an F1 pole, his breakthrough is likely to be monitored closely by F1 officials.
