Kylian Mbappe Sues PSG
It’s official. Kylian Mbappe has taken his final shot at PSG, and this time it’s in a courtroom, not on a football pitch.
The Real Madrid superstar has filed a legal complaint against his former club, accusing Paris Saint-Germain of moral harassment and claiming they owe him a staggering 55 million euros in unpaid wages. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the action on Thursday, throwing the spotlight back on what has been one of the most dramatic player-club breakups in recent football history.
From Superstar to Sidelined
The heart of the legal case isn’t just about money. It’s about how PSG treated their record goal scorer after he made it clear he wouldn’t extend his contract.

Kylian Mbappe, the captain of France and face of French football, was essentially iced out. According to the complaint, he was subjected to “lofting”, a term used in France when a player is banished from the main squad and forced to train alone or with fringe players for sporting or disciplinary reasons.
Mbappe missed PSG’s preseason tour to Japan and South Korea. He was training away from the first team. He was left out of the season opener. This wasn’t a minor punishment. This was the cold shoulder in full view of the world.
A Contract Full of Confusion
The trouble started long before Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer. Back in 2022, when PSG pulled out all the stops to keep him, the club announced a blockbuster extension. They paraded him in front of the fans with a jersey marked 2025. It looked like a victory.

But behind the scenes, Mbappe was already frustrated.
He believed the club failed to deliver on key promises, particularly when it came to signings. And that “2025” contract? It was only until 2024, with an optional extra year. That option was Mbappe’s to trigger, and in June 2023, he told PSG he wouldn’t.
Suddenly, the most valuable player in world football was heading into the final year of his deal. PSG had a dilemma: sell him now or risk losing him for free. They chose pressure. Mbappe chose patience.
300 Million Rejected, Relationship Shattered
During that tense summer, PSG tried to offload him. Saudi giants Al-Hilal came in with a jaw-dropping 300 million euros bid, which would have shattered the transfer record. Mbappe said no.
By the time Ligue 1 kicked off, the relationship was in pieces. Mbappe was initially frozen out but returned to the team after internal discussions. However, the damage was done.
Fans booed him during his final home game. PSG executives felt betrayed after offering him the most lucrative deal in club history. Mbappe left for Madrid without a transfer fee, after scoring 256 goals in seven years and winning everything but the Champions League, which PSG finally claimed this year, ironically, without him.
Legal War Begins
Mbappe’s legal team had already indicated in April that a complaint was coming. Now it is here. The claim isn’t just about money. It paints a picture of workplace isolation, mental stress, and reputational damage.

It’s not every day that a global football icon accuses his former club of harassment. But then again, this has never been a normal story.
Mbappe’s chapter at PSG may be closed, but the fallout is just getting started.
From golden boy to legal adversary, Mbappe’s exit from PSG is now the subject of a courtroom drama. Whatever the outcome, this saga is a landmark moment in the balance of power between superstar players and elite clubs.
