The organisers of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles have officially revealed the LA28 venues. Two of the city’s most famous stadiums, the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the modern SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, will hold this prestigious event.
LA28 Venues For The Olympics
For the first time in history, the opening ceremony will take place at two locations at the same time. On 14 July 2028, both the LA Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium will host the Olympic Opening Ceremony. This dual LA28 venues approach aims to showcase the best of Los Angeles and its rich sporting history.
The Coliseum previously hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1984. It will also become the first venue to host Olympic events for a third time. Meanwhile, SoFi Stadium was inaugurated in 2020 and will be making its Olympic debut.
The Closing Ceremony for the Olympic Games will be held on 30 July 2028 at the LA Memorial Coliseum. This event celebrates the achievements of athletes and marks the end of an iconic event.
LA28 Venues For The Paralympics
The Paralympic Games will be held in Los Angeles for the first time and will also feature two venues. The Paralympic Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 15 August 2028 at SoFi Stadium, while the Closing Ceremony will take place on 27 August 2028 at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
