Larga Pilipinas 2025: An Action-Packed Cycling Weekend Awaits In Philippines

3 Min Read

The Philippines’ premier cycling race series, Larga Pilipinas, is all set to flag off this weekend, drawing over 3,000 riders to compete in both road bike and mountain bike events across Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Pangasinan. After being postponed last August due to typhoon and monsoon damage, organizers are confident the weekend races will proceed smoothly.

Larga Pilipinas 2025: What to expect

The competition features seven major categories, including the Pro Elite and the People’s Race, which encompasses MTB Men’s Open, Road Bike Boys 18U, Road Bike Boys 23U, Road Bike Men 23U, MTB Amateur Boys 18U, and the Fix Gears, the most challenging event where riders race on bikes without brakes. So far, the MTB Men’s Open has the highest number of entrants with 845 participants, while the Pro Elite category has 105 riders registered. Organizers are still expecting last-minute entries ahead of the weekend.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the two-stage race is the 1-on-1 Titan Ultra Challenge, which will see rising star Junjun Cabadido face off against continental rider Marc Ryan Lago. The winner will take home P20,000, along with medals and trophies. “As part of Larga Pilipinas’ innovation and niche to be the trailblazer in Philippine cycling, we’re coming up with this one-on-one race,” said Snow Badua, Larga Pilipinas operations and creative head.

The race routes are equally challenging: Stage 1 covers the Nampicuan-to-Nampicuan route, while Stage 2 takes riders from Nampicuan to Sitio Baag Highlands in San Jose, Tarlac.

Gary Role, the president and race director of Larga Pilipinas, deemed the event as an opportunity to showcase both elite and amateur Filipino cyclists. The event is presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, and the country’s 24/7 sports app ArenaPlus.

With thrilling races, competitive categories, and exciting side events like the Titan Ultra Challenge, this year’s Larga Pilipinas promises to be an unmissable celebration of Philippine cycling.
