Although initially the Indian international cricketer Rishabh Pant was nominated to receive the coveted and highly prestigious Laureus World Comeback of the Year Award for making a roaring comeback in international cricket from a 14-month layoff due to his road accident, the award was eventually given to Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025 as he missed out on the awards.

Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability Award: Jiang Yuyan

Chinese professional Paralympic swimmer, Jiang Yuyan, who competes in the S6 disability class, received her maiden Laureus World Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability Award at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025 for being the most-decorated athlete in the 2024 Summer Paralympics and winning 7 gold medals in total.

Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year Award: Tom Pidcock

Thomas Pidcock, popularly referred to as “Tom Pidcock”, is a British cyclist who competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport for the Swiss Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team was honoured with the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year Award.

Kick4Life, an organisation leveraging football for social development, was also honoured with the prestigious Laureus Sport for Good Award at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025 for its impactful work.

Laureus Sporting Icon Award: Rafael Nadal

The legendary Spanish professional tennis player, Rafael Nadal, who was ranked as the world No. 1 in men’s singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for 209 weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 five times, was honoured with the Laureus Sporting Icon Award at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025 for the immense contributions that he has made to the international scene of tennis and for all his star-studded records and achievements.

Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award: Kelly Slater

The 53-year-old American professional surfer, Kelly Slater, who has been crowned World Surf League champion a record 11 times, was honoured with the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award at the Laureus World Sports Awards 2025. In the previous editions of the Laureus World Sports Awards, Kelly Slater has also been awarded the prestigious Action Sportsperson of the Year award four times in the years 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2012.
